Biodistribution Studies
To enable our clients involved in the development of gene therapy products to analyze the distribution and persistence of a target DNA or RNA, Cogenics offers biodistribution services based on the ABI PRISM 7900HT QPCR Sequence Detection System platform. Cogenics provides standard assays and custom target-specific assays. Normalized target quantities are calculated as the number of vector copies detected (target assay) per genome detected (endogenous control assay) adjusted by a percent DNA recovery (if applicable).

Samples
Clients submit test articles (frozen tissue, blood, swabs, purified DNA, or RNA) and controls (purified target DNA and host genomic DNA). Cogenics provides high quality DNA extraction and purification services as part of the offering.

Results
All reports are available via Cogenics’ secure FTP site, email, or mail. The Final Report includes a description of the overall project design, output from the ABI 7900HT System (including experimental reports, standard curves, and amplification plots), and determination of the Ct (amplification threshold value) for each sample. Duplicate reactions are reported individually along with the sample mean and variation. For regulated projects, a quality assurance statement is also included.
